Benelli Reveals TRK 602 X at EICMA: 554cc 270° Twin and 19-Inch Spoked Wheel
56 hp from 554cc + 270-degree crank with an accessible 825mm saddle + Benelli replaces Italy's sales champion with genuine cross-spoke teeth.

Benelli has officially revealed the production-ready 2027 Benelli TRK 602 X at EICMA 2026 in Milan, unveiling the definitive successor to the motorcycle that dominated European sales charts for the better part of a decade: the TRK 502. While the Pesaro-based manufacturer recently captured attention with the heavyweight Benelli TRK 902 Xplorer, the TRK 602 X is the high-volume core of the company’s adventure operations. Powered by an all-new 554cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine borrowed from the Tornado 550 platform, the 602 X ditches the flat 360-degree firing order of its predecessor for a charismatic 270-degree crankshaft, boosting output to 56 hp while maintaining approachable middleweight ergonomics.
For years, the TRK 502 succeeded because it looked and felt like a full-sized 1200cc maxi-enduro while selling for half the money. Its primary flaw was always weight: hauling 235 kg with just 47 hp made Alpine passes a test of patience. The 602 X tackles that deficit directly by introducing an all-new engine with greater torque spread and replacing the heavy forward steel subframe with a cast aluminum assembly, creating a sharper, more dynamic crossover for the European A2 touring market.
554cc 270-Degree Parallel-Twin: More Grunt, Better Soundtrack
The 2027 Benelli TRK 602 X is powered by a 554cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine featuring double overhead camshafts (DOHC), four valves per cylinder, and a 270-degree crankshaft offset. In full-power trim, the engine delivers 56 hp (41.2 kW) at 8,250 rpm and 54 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm, with a dedicated 47.6 hp (35 kW) variant available to accommodate European A2 licensing restrictions.
Compared to the outgoing 500cc lump, the 270-degree firing interval imparts a syncopated V-twin pulse that substantially improves low-rpm traction on loose gravel roads. Fuel metering is governed by Bosch electronic fuel injection feeding 38mm throttle bodies, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with an integrated torque-assist slipper clutch. Dual selectable engine maps (Standard and Rain) allow riders to modulate throttle responsiveness depending on conditions.
“The TRK 502 built our modern foundation by democratizing the adventure touring experience. With the TRK 602 X, we preserve the comfort, full-dress road presence, and protective weather envelope our riders love, but with significantly punchier engine dynamics and modern connectivity.” — Benelli R&D Product Management, EICMA Milan
Chassis Evolution, 19-Inch Wire Wheels, and Turn-Key Touring Kit
Underneath the restyled bodywork sits Benelli’s signature tubular steel trellis frame, now augmented by an aluminum upper subframe structure designed to support the front fairing and cockpit while reducing high-mounted mass. The rear subframe geometry has been re-profiled to narrow the standover width, yielding an approachable seat height of 825 mm.
Suspension consists of a non-adjustable 43mm upside-down front fork providing 140 mm of wheel travel, paired with a central rear monoshock mounted to an aluminum swingarm offering 173 mm of travel and adjustable spring preload. Wire-spoked wheels measuring 19 inches up front and 17 inches at the rear come shod in tubeless-ready adventure tires (110/80-19 front, 150/70-17 rear).
Braking performance receives a significant upgrade: twin 320mm semi-floating front discs are clamped by radially mounted four-piston calipers, complemented by a 260mm rear disc and dual-channel ABS with switchable rear-wheel intervention. The cockpit features a full-color 5-inch TFT display offering Bluetooth smartphone mirroring, turn-by-turn navigation, and a USB charging port. True to Benelli tradition, practical adventure hardware—including wraparound crash bars, an aluminum sump guard, handguards, and a heavy-duty center stand—comes fitted as standard equipment.
The Rider’s Trade-Off
Benelli’s decision to maintain a full-size touring fairing and include steel crash bars, luggage racks, and a center stand as standard kit makes the TRK 602 X an unbeatable showroom value, but it ensures the bike remains on the heavier side of the middleweight scale. While lighter than the outgoing 502, the 602 X will still push near 218 kg wet, meaning it behaves more like a tarmac-oriented travel-enduro than a nimble dirt weapon like the Moto Morini Camel 670 or the QJMotor SRT 800 RX. Furthermore, 140 mm of front fork travel is modest for serious rocky trails, confirming that the 19-inch front hoop is intended for broken backroads and fire roads rather than boulder-strewn singletrack.
